IB students are caring, giving and global. Community service is a huge part of what we do! This year Rippowam Middle School is teaming with Moores Elementary School in Moores, NY to send a very special care package to the young men and women of the US Army 10th Mountain who is currently deployed in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
A Caring IB student writes a letter to the 10th Mountain
Mr. Dubuque, and his sister Amanda Frostick, who is a Kindergarten teacher in Moores, NY are spearheading the collection to send some holiday cheer to their brother Specialist Patrick Dubuque’s unit in Afghanistan. SPC Patrick Dubuque and the US Army 10th Mountain has been deployed since last spring. Most of the soldiers in the brigade are in their late teens and early twenties and miss home deeply. When asked what they want the most they responded with letters and treats! So that is what we are sending.
Moores Elementary and Rippowam Middle School are writing letters and collecting treats to send the troops. A perfect way to celebrate the holidays in the spirit of giving!
